 I have been using Obitalk for years  with google voice . What service provider  is recommended for local phone service when Obitalk ends?

The end of Obitalk does NOT necessarily end your OBi device working with GV.  This has been explained many times!

For what it's worth, I've been using voip.ms as a VOIP provider, they even helped me out by chat when I had some small issues doing the initial setup. You can check their wiki on how to setup the Obi200 with their service: https://wiki.voip.ms/article/OBi_100/110_%26_OBi_200

Not the easiest thing to setup, but quite a lot of features and they have quite a few gateways to connect to for the lowest possible latency.
